Los Angeles lifestyle brand PLEASURES announces its capsule collection featuring the works of Robert Mapplethorpe, on November 3, 2023. 

Robert Mapplethorpe was an American photographer best known for his black and white photographs. Mapplethorpe began producing his own Polaroid photographs early on in his career, saying he felt “it was more honest”. Years later, Sam Wagstaff, benefactor and mentor, gave Mapplethorpe a Hasselblad 500 camera where he began shooting his circle of friends and acquaintances – artists, musicians, socialites, film stars, and members of the S&M underground. His vast, provocative, and powerful body of work has established him as one of the most important artists of the twentieth century and is still represented in galleries across the globe. 

PLEASURES has encapsulated a collection inspired by Mapplethorpe’s legacy for all to enjoy. 

The collection consists of 16 different items (all SKUs listed below). Look for this collection dropping on Friday, November 3rd at 10:00 AM PST available on pleasuresnow.com and other global retailers. Partnership done in collaboration with Artestar, a global licensing agency and creative consultancy representing high-profile artists, photographers, designers, and creatives.
